the story behind the art
~ these pieces are perhaps the largest completed works to date. to conquer my fear of working on giant khadi paper sheets, i tore the paper into smaller panels + worked from memory + photographs i had taken on walks with wilfred. i didn’t have a ‘final piece’ in mind, instead i focused on each small panel, drawing different ‘moments’ of skies i had seen, trying to keep the ink the same consistency throughout each piece.
once i had finished all the panels i put them altogether to see what + if they created any kind of ‘anything’. with a bit of shuffling around + a few touch ups to link some panels, the pieces came together ~ memories of ‘moments’ celebrating the sun + the ever changing skies through the seasons.
